First 5cr KBC winner earns 6k salary
October 24th ushered in Dhanteras, quite literally for Bihari boy Sushil Kumar when he got a cheque of `5 crore from Amitabh Bachchan, after winning the whopping amount having answered all the questions on the quiz game show correctly. Sushil is also the first person in “Kaun Banega Crorepati”’s history to win an amount as huge as this.
Before Sushil, Mumbai’s Harshvardhan Nawathe won a crore in 2000.
And again in 2004 Jharkhand’s Rahat Taslim won `1 crore. And now, Sushil says he has finally got a chance to fulfil all that he has dreamt of in his life. While a flat in a highrise for his wife is his first priority, Sushil’s equally happy at getting a chance to make an attempt to achieve his second wish. Sushil, who always wanted to become a civil servant, says he’ll be reaching Delhi to enroll in a civil services coaching institute. Sushil says, “It’s time now to achieve my dreams since I have the means for it.”
Sushil also wants to start business ventures for his four brothers. Sushil’s elder brother Sunil Kumar Patel, a mechanic says, “We are five brothers and Sushil is the third. Paiso ki baat nahi hai, the whole village is celebrating his victory more than Diwali. Yeh garv ki baat hai.”
Sushil and his wife Seema with whom he had tied the knot only five months back were moved to tears when Amitabh handed him the cheque. Drawing a monthly salary of `6,000, Sushil also gives computer lessons at a local institute in Motihari. “I never thought in my wildest of dreams that I could do this. I hope my victory will inspire others in Bihar,” he said .
